Passion and Purity

Do you ever wonder what it looks like to give your love life completely into the hands of God?

If your answer is yes, maybe, or even no....I would still encourage you to read Passion and Purity by Elisabeth Elliot. I love to read, and for those of you that know me, I often say that the current book I'm reading is "the best book I've ever read." I'd like to say, without hesitation and with complete certainty....this is the best book I've ever read on the subject of relationships.

Here's a little background on Elisabeth and her late husband Jim. She has lived her life as a missionary (she had already won points with me there). She met Jim in college and they fell in love, but were not united in marriage until 5 years later. Less than a year after they were married, Jim was killed by an Indian tribe in Ecuador that he had been trying to share the gospel with.

The book is all about this five year period of waiting. It is a firsthand look into Elisabeth's struggle to wait on God in her relationship with Jim. She is a great example of a woman dedicated to God's leading, timing, and desire for us to remain pure.
